22 MAY 2025 TO EARLY JUNE
We had a lot to do at POG Gosport in getting the boat ready for our summer cruise including fitting deck netting to secure the decks, particularly with Peggy in mind,
Our May cruise westward was something of a non event, as ever beating west the wind was directly on the nose of our boat, and although Decision is a very capable yacht it’s very wearing and uncomfortable facing directly windward and is a challenge at the best of times but with the persisting headwinds so against us and the long range forecast for a chunk of June not looking good we decided to cut it short, return to home port and look to head off nearer July.
We did though visit Cowes whitegates midstream pontoon briefly for a short stop over, Lymington town Quay overnight, we tested our new Rocna anchor at both Keyhaven and Priory bay Bembridge, with great results as the holding was very good in over 20 knots of wind and moderate seas, Having the night before rated 4 deep at Yarmouth our last port of call was Bembridge Harbour having entered and onto the berth in high winds, the next day we sailed back to Portsmouth harbour and into POG, packing the boat away the following day to return home.
